Pam and Shawn are a super fun and creative couple. I have really enjoyed getting to know them and becoming good friends. We had a thousand laughs making their Engagement Session, they are so entertaining to be around, that I couldn’t wait for the wedding. Pam’s wore a ball gown and her colors were hot pink and black with lime green. It was black dresses with pink shoes for the girls and black suits with pink ties for the gents.

A lot of my couples do a “first look;” it’s a cool moment when the bride and groom secretly see each other. I loved Shawn’s first reaction; it was sooo sweet, he straightened her tiara and looked into her eye’s and sighed. I love these images because if fits their personalities so well, Shawn is laid back and quiet while Pam is alway happy! Your photography should reflect your personality, not someone’s style.

Let me tell you, these girls were so much fun to work with! I love making fun, lively photography and showing my clients the best time while doing it.

Pam and Shawn got married at Jay Verno Studio’s on the southside of Pittsburgh. Let me tell you, if you are even remotely considering this space for your wedding or reception, do it! It’s young; it’s hip with a very non-traditional venue which gives it a fun feel and killer place to party! Jay was a main fashion photographer for Kaufmans for over 30 years, but once Macy’s bought out Kauffmans, he had to convert his fashion studio. The space is amazing and Jay can set the studio up so many different ways, we just love the space bathed in pink light. You never wanted to leave. It’s perfect if you want the entire wedding there or just your reception. It’s convenient to the southside flats, and with valet, your guests can pull up to the door and forget the outside world for a while. Inside Jay’s studio is magical and the lighting really sets the tone. Jay offers many services and packages; his staff is excellent, especially Paul who catered to our needs with kindness and respect. Jay, too, is one of the friendliest people you can meet in the Pittsburgh wedding scene. Special thanks to the Jay Verno staff for their exceptional accommodations.

“Yes, We Cater” were the best, the food was fresh, delicious and they never let a tray or platter go half empty! They constantly had new dishes coming, and it was so good and so plentiful. I am going to have to recommend these guys as the best caterers of the year so far! From the sushi boats, to tuna steak with peppercorn coating to the chicken and roast beef, the food was AMAZING, and we got stuffed!

Pam and Shawn made their own fortune cookies which were cute and funny. Here are the three quotes they used. ” Rituals are important. Nowadays, its not hip to be married. I’m not interested in being hip” – John Lennon. “No Man was ever shot by his wife while doing the dishes.” “Let the wife make her husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave.” Martin Luther

Pam and Shawn, thank you so much for trusting me with your day; from the details, to the tears and laughs, it has been so much fun! Special thanks to my good friend Alanna for hooking it up and bringing Pam and me together : )

Michelle Condne - These images are gorgeous! You captured the classic vintage feel perfectly. Amazing work!
Jamie Campayno - I finally got to view all of these! Oh my, they are amazing!!!!! I found myself tearing up re-living all of these moments and laughing seeing how the funny moments really looked from an onlookers perspective. There’s not another photographer that I know that could’ve captured our wedding with this much grace, emotion and beauty. You truly are one-of-a-kind Joey, you have an impressive way of photographing what seemed somewhat normal through my eyes and bringing out true beauty. Thank you SO much for all this joy!
Milla - Wow wow wow Joey! Stunning! Awesome work.
